On the left side, you see the calculator for flight N° 720. I have filed 3:28 h:m trip time in the waterpipe, with 5 paying passengers. The calculator then suggests the cost and income values : Direct operating cost (DOC), estimated distance, AvGas required for this trip, cost of the avgas, and the estimated passenger income for the given distance and number of passengers. On the right side, you see that I have changed the numbers to a longer flight (3:41) and one more passenger. After hitting "Recalculate", the numbers have changed. In fact, these numbers have already been updated in the logbook. Clicking "Close" will bring you back to the edit form. Of course, you can fine tune the proposed values at your will in the edit form. Understand the calculated values as a help for those who don't calculate the numbers on their own. It is a best guess, taking into account the aircraft S.F.C., HP and DOC class, the average cruise speed, trip time and passengers. |
